The Rehab and Wellness Center at BBGH supports a full staff of therapists that covers all three disciplines; Physical therapy, Occupational therapy, and Speech/Language Pathology.

Pediatric therapy, pelvic health, aquatic therapy, and pre/postnatal therapy are also specialties our staff are experienced in and provide. Each therapist uses specific techniques and treatments aimed at progressing you toward your goals for recovery. As a multidisciplinary team, we take a patient-centered approach that is tailored to each patient's individual needs.

Physical therapists specialize in musculoskeletal impairments that limit a patient's ability to move, walk, or complete meaningful tasks. They treat a wide range of injuries and impairments ranging from stroke, recovering from surgery, or returning to sports.

Occupational therapists focus more on the patient's activities of daily living. They are able to provide education and adaptive equipment to patients so that they can return to completing work, home, or recreational activities.

Speech-Language Pathologists specialize in the ability to evaluate and treat issues related to a patient's ability to talk, swallow, comprehend information, and problem-solve. They also provide education and helpful ways to deal with memory or attention issues.

Our staff also provides convenience for your schedule. Schedule back-to-back appointments so you can go from Dialysis or another appointment straight to therapy in the span of a few hours! Our staff can also recommend you to a lifestyle medicine specialist or a nutritional specialist to give you an all-around approach to your wellbeing.

In addition, our Wellness Center for physical exercise is staffed by professionals ready to assist you in the use the Center's full range of exercise equipment to help you meet your health goals.

Inpatient & Outpatient Services

The Rehab and Wellness Center provides both inpatient and outpatient care including physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech-language pathology services. Inpatient care might be received if your doctor feels it is necessary upon admission and/or you have had a decline in function during your hospital stay. Therapy services may include strengthening, gait training, increasing functional independence, training in activities of daily living, receiving a customized home exercise program, and swallowing, speech, or cognitive training. This will continue during the duration of your hospital stay to improve your ability to return home, or improve your ability to carry out your daily tasks safely when you are discharged from the hospital.

Outpatient services may be received if your doctor feels it is necessary, and after you have been discharged from the hospital. You may require outpatient services after recent hospitalization, surgery, increased pain, decline in function, a sports injury, etc. Therapy services include strengthening, postural training, gait training, increasing functional independence, training in activities of daily living, customized home exercise program, swallowing, speech, and cognitive training. Each therapy discipline will evaluate your needs and coordinate their efforts to meet your specific goals.
